Deepesh & Raksha planned their marriage in Phuket by themselves without the help of the wedding planner that eventually they decided Angsana Laguna Phuket as their destination gathering venue for the most special day in the lifetime.
They proved that you can also planned your own destination nuptials in Phuket, Thailand and it is privileged for me that they are happy to share their story of planning with you.

On top of the hardware / location they feature, their flexibility and understanding the nature of this particular events is awesome which was the main reason why Deepesh & Raksha could plan and execute the wedding by themselves without using planner services.
How did you met the groom to be and how he made you said I Do ?
Our story goes back to our childhood days. Deepesh and I were just 13 when we first got acquainted through our mutual friends. Over the years, we developed a strong friendship that soon blossomed into a romantic relationship.
Deepesh had arranged a surprise proposal in Bali on a stunning cliff top overlooking the ocean with a beautiful sunset! He planned everything so carefully, it was beyond perfect!
Why Thailand Why Phuket ?
Raksha had lived in Thailand for 5 years with her family. The family love Thailand and so does Deepesh and his family. With Phuket’s international airport allowing for all our guests from across the globe to fly in, its easily accessible and reasonably central.
How did you actually start putting together the wedding?
We spent alot of time talking to various wedding vendors for various things – e.g decorations, venues, DJ, sound and lighting, caterers etc. After agreeing on vendors we felt we could easily trust and knew were reliable, we were able to work closely with those vendors to progress our planning. We did alot of research online and used social media for lots of ideas!
How did you manage invitations?
We set up an online website via AppyCouple to provide our guests with every little detail they would need to know. We used this channel to provide regular updates and quick links for them to book their accommodation. Additionally, we had printed invitations ordered from India to distribute to our families.
How did you make the budget as it was the first time?
After lots of in-depth research, we got a good idea of how much each detail costs and from there we put together how much we were comfortable to spend based on what was important to us.
What was the most challenging part of planning your wedding ?
Given Deepesh and I both have large families, invite lists were tricky! We couldn’t invite absolutely everyone given general capacity limitations of venues…but we eventually got to a list that both families were comfortable with. The other challenging part we found was finding a venue. We did research in both Melbourne and Thailand, and we are so glad we were able to finally land Angsana Laguna which ticked all the boxes.
What if you could go back in time, what you could avoid or do it better ?
I honestly wouldn’t change a thing!
